Additional Workshops in India

P eople have called it “the graveyard of missions.” God has given a vision to His servants in Bihar, India, that it will be a “vineyard for the Lord.” An Outline Bible Workshop team had the privilege of going, once again, to work with those dear servants of God to teach and train using Outline Bible Resources. The team of ten left the U.S. on March 24 and arrived in Patna on March 26 ready to work with BORN ministries located there.

The team held 2 three-day workshops in Patna, India. Many leaders from BORN, who were not in last years' training, attended and will now use the Hindi version of Outline Bible Resources in their teaching, preaching and speaking about God's Word to others in villages all over the Indian state of Bihar. (Estimated population is about 92 million in a state a little larger than South Carolina)

When asked in one session, "How many of you are the first Christians in your family?" Most of them raised their hands!

In addition to the workshops, the team also participated in worship services, observing baptisms, portable Bible school graduations, and visiting a girls' Bible school.

The team enjoyed being a part of the special meeting to inaugurate the translation of the Hindi Preacher's Outline & Sermon Bible (POSB). A team has been selected and will begin working on that translation in the next few months. At this time, we have What the Bible Says to the Minister, TOSB Ephesians and TOSB Galatians available in Hindi. In the next 3 years the entire POSB New Testament will be translated and printed in Hindi for thousands of preachers and evangelists to use to help make God’s Word clear.

Upon completing the Indian workshops, Jan Burkett, Chuck, Zeiser, Jim McCall and Cathy and Hank Lyles traveled back to the U.S. as the rest of the team continued to travel to Nepal.
