400 CAPRO Missionaries are preparing to study

What the Bible Says to the Minister

Leadership Ministries' General Director, John Burkett, and CAPRO Director Amos Aderonmu met in Nairobi, during the MANI Conference 2006, to discuss how Outline Bible Resources™ could be used as mission resources for CAPRO missionaries now serving in 28 countries. CAPRO (Calvary Ministries) is an indigenous, non-denominational, cross-cultural Missions Agency. Director Aderonmu said that in addition to African countries CAPRO was also in Yemen and United Arab Emirates.

As a result of the meeting, Timothy Olonade (see photo), National Secretariat of NEMA (Nigerian Evangelical Missions Association) and a member of CAPRO, will prepare to teach a core group of CAPRO missionaries in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Evangelical Missions Association (NEMA) is committed to mobilizing Nigerians for world mission and serves as the coordinating group for indigenous agencies totaling some 3000 full-time missionaries serving in 31 countries. During the past year, NEMA held a Missions Executive Congress in which some 120 missions leaders met to discuss leadership initiatives for missions advancement in Nigeria. NEMA’s recent “Tribes Around Lake Chad” consultation focused on partnership, resource-sharing, and strategy to reach the tribes around Lake Chad. NEMA serves as a missions research and mobilization center for Nigeria.

Olonade has printed Outline Bible Resources books Prayer and What the Bible Says to the Minister (The Minister's Personal Handbook) in Jos, Nigeria and makes it available to the English speaking African market. LMW and NEMA have partnered together in two Nigerian events and one Kenyan event in the last 4 years: a NEMA event in Kubwa and GoFest in Ajebo and workshops in four cities in Kenya.

Aderonmu writes,

"We have been able to raise money here in Nigeria to buy 400 copies of the Minister's Personal Handbook from Brother Tim [Olonade] in Jos. These 400 copies will be given to each of our English speaking missionaries.

I have asked Tim to train some of our key leaders in Nigeria who will in turn train field leaders within their zone and the field leaders will train other missionaries in their field. Pray that the content of the Handbook will bless CAPRO missionaries as it has blessed others around the World."

Olonade, Burkett and Kirk Lyles, LMW's Director of Marketing, also led a workshop at the local CAPRO offices in Nairobi using The Minister's 20060628dscf0714.jpgPersonal Handbook. Twenty-five attended the workshop, including two from not for profit NGO's (non-government organizations) in Kenya. Others attending were from local churches and local mission groups. Several indicated they wanted to go back to their organizations and use the taught volume as training material for their local workers.

In addition to offering training at the CAPRO offices, the team visited three other Kenyan cities and held workshops in each.
